Bishop Jonathan C. Carey’s life and ministry stand as a powerful testament to faith in action, servant leadership, and the enduring power of hope. As founder and president of The CTC Network, he leads with compassion, wisdom, and purpose, guiding an organization dedicated to bringing hope, healing, and spiritual direction through consultation, training, and counseling.
An accomplished author of twenty books on leadership, Bishop Carey continues to equip, encourage, and inspire leaders throughout Florida and beyond. Recognized for his unwavering dedication to compassionate ministry and spiritual care, Bishop Carey is a Commissioned Chaplain with Advanced Ecclesiastical Endorsement through The Assemblies of God Commission on Chaplains. He serves with distinction as Lead Pastor of Glad Tidings Tabernacle in Key West, Florida, and as Africa and Caribbean Regional Commander for Frontline Chaplains International, extending his leadership, pastoral care, and ministry across communities, cultures, and nations.
Since beginning his journey in Gospel ministry in 1982, Bishop Carey has faithfully answered the call to serve in roles that have shaped lives across churches, communities, and nations. His ministry has included service as a pastor, National Youth Director, district and national church official, ordained minister with The Assemblies of God Bahamas, and consecrated Bishop with Global United Fellowship. He currently serves as Vice Presider - International, continuing a legacy of spiritual leadership marked by vision, humility, and service.
At the heart of Bishop Carey’s life and ministry is his beloved family. He and his wife, Shena, are the proud parents of three children: Jonathan, Stephen, and Joyanne. Their family has grown to include two daughters-in-law, Sherry and Violet, one son-in-law, Isaac, and five grandchildren, who remain a cherished source of joy and inspiration.

PAST COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Bishop Carey’s impact has long extended far beyond the pulpit. In 1993, he founded Programme S.U.R.E. (Success Ultimately Reassures Everyone), a public alternative school in The Bahamas created to support students facing persistent disciplinary challenges. Serving as principal for six years, he helped create pathways of structure, encouragement, and opportunity for young people in need of guidance and hope. His public service has also included meaningful leadership as a member of The Bahamas National Crime Commission, chair of the Bahamas National Youth Advisory Board, and director of the West Grand Bahama Community Tourism Board under the Ministry of Tourism.
PRESENT COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Today, Bishop Carey continues to serve communities near and far with the same compassion and commitment that have defined his life’s work. He is a board member with Won By One To Jamaica, an organization that empowers individuals by fostering genuine relationships and providing educational, medical, economic, and spiritual resources. He also serves as an advisory board member for Juvenile Justice Circuit #16 in the State of Florida, offering faith-based leadership, encouragement, and support to efforts that strengthen young lives and serve the wider community.
In Monroe County, Florida, Bishop Carey serves as County Coordinator for the National Day of Prayer, continuing his commitment to unity, compassion, and spiritual encouragement within the community. In recognition of his extraordinary contributions in the United States as a chaplain, community counselor for at-risk youth, and first responder, Bishop Jonathan C. Carey received the U.S. President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Service and Volunteerism in 2023. His life’s work reflects a steadfast commitment to serving others, strengthening communities, and inspiring hope wherever he is called to lead.
