Our Founders
In 1982, Jonathan and Shena Carey entered full-time ministry as home missionaries on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas, and throughout the years, served in various places and positions.
In 2003, they embraced the ministry assignment the Lord gave them. For them, it was The CTC Network, a ministry providing biblical principles to the mountains of culture. Throughout the years, the Lord has refined the vision, and their commitment is to keep an ear tuned to the Holy Spirit's voice.
Missional Chaplaincy
In 2017, during the aftermath of Hurricane Irma in the Florida Keys, we housed teams from the Billy Graham RRT and Samaritan's Purse for twelve weeks. Their interaction with these two organizations and the workings of the Holy Spirit in their hearts gave birth to Hope Plaza in The Bahamas. The vision of helping others prepare effectively for seasons of crisis and to ready themselves for eternity became their Missionary Focus. The Hope Plaza also serves as the Africa and Caribbean base for Frontline Chaplains International.
Jonathan and Shena's Roles
Jonathan, a 2023 recipient of the U.S. President's Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Service and Volunteerism, serves as the senior Pastor of Glad Tidings Tabernacle, Key West, Florida. Jonathan is an Assemblies of God USA Commissioned Chaplain and has an Advanced Ecclesiastical Endorsement with The Assemblies of God Commission on Chaplains as an Emergency Services - Crisis/Disaster Responder. Jonathan also serves as Africa and Caribbean Regional Commander for Frontline Chaplains International.
Shena holds a Doctorate in Community Ministry and Social Work and leads the efforts of Loaves & Fishes and Carey Press. She actively brings awareness to the needs of children throughout The Bahamas, the Caribbean, and Southern Africa, and each summer provides backpacks and school supplies to as many of the neediest students as possible.
