Our Tool: Understanding and Facilitating Organizational Shifts

In 2003, our team collaborated with regional managers at a major North American corporation. Although the company had refreshed its vision statement and gained deeper insight into its market, it struggled with declining revenue and loss of clients because it had not adapted to changing circumstances.

What Is a Shift?

A shift occurs when an organization modifies its vision, mission, or goals. There are many reasons for these shifts; although not all changes are positive, each can be managed and adjusted. Change inevitably brings challenges, which may prompt additional shifts.

These guiding principles and methods are also flexible enough for personal vision planning and are suitable for most vision-building projects. We have incorporated the 5R Circle Process in our counseling program.
